Our Fragrance Standards

Our fragrance oils are professionally formulated blends of fragrance ingredients, primarily synthetic by design, and may also include naturally derived components and essential oils.

We intentionally use high-quality fragrance materials because they allow for:

• Greater consistency and stability from batch to batch
• More complex, beautifully layered fragrance profiles
• Access to scent notes that may be difficult or unsustainable to obtain naturally
• More consistent fragrance performance across our products
• An elevated fragrance experience at an accessible luxury price point

Our fragrance materials are selected and used in accordance with applicable IFRA guidelines, which are informed by the scientific research and safety assessments of the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM).

We do not position our fragrances as organic, all-natural, or 100% naturally derived. Instead, we focus on thoughtful formulation, transparency, quality, and responsible fragrance use—all part of The Sea Love Standard.

Our Wax

We use 100% U.S.-grown soy wax, a plant-based, renewable resource derived from soybean oil.

The soybean oil is refined and hydrogenated to transform it into a smooth, solid wax ideal for candle making. We carefully select our wax for its quality, consistency, fragrance performance, and beautiful burn characteristics.

Soy wax is biodegradable and, when properly wicked and cared for, offers a slow, even burn with minimal visible soot. It also has a relatively low melting point, which can contribute to a longer-lasting candle and a beautiful fragrance experience.

Soy Allergies

Highly refined soy wax generally contains little to no detectable soy protein, which is the component of soy associated with most allergic reactions. Because Sea Love soy wax is used in candles rather than consumed, reactions are generally considered unlikely.

However, individual allergies and sensitivities can vary. If you have a known soy allergy or specific health concerns, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use.

Nut Allergies

Our fragrance oils are complex blends of fragrance ingredients and are not intended to be represented as allergen-free. If you have a known nut allergy or sensitivity and are unsure about a particular fragrance - such as Pistachio - we recommend avoiding that fragrance and choosing another option.
