How should I burn my candle for the first time?
The first burn is the most important. Allow your candle to burn long enough to create a full melt pool, meaning the melted wax reaches close to the edge of the container. This may take up to 4 hours depending on the size of the candle.
This helps establish a proper “burn memory,” which can prevent tunneling and promote an evener burn throughout the life of your candle.
For safety and optimal performance, never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
How do I take care of the wick?
Before each relight, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch. Proper wick care helps reduce smoke, soot, and wick “mushrooming” while promoting a cleaner, more even burn.
For best results, keep your wick trimmed and never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
How can I burn my candle safely?
Candles can pose a fire hazard if not used properly. Always follow these candle safety guidelines:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant, level surface.
- Keep candles away from bedding, curtains, décor, clothing, and other flammable materials.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Keep burning candles away from open windows, vents, fans, and drafts.
- Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before each burn.
- Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
- Always follow the burn and care instructions provided with your candle.

What ingredients are used in your custom fragrance?
Our Scent Your Body™ fragrances are created using high-quality fragrance accords blended with a professional perfumer’s base designed specifically for fragrance you can wear. Our fragrance oils are phthalate-free and thoughtfully selected to meet Sea Love’s quality standards.
What is the difference between perfume and cologne?
The primary difference between perfume and cologne is the concentration of fragrance in the finished product—not gender. Perfume traditionally contains a higher concentration of fragrance oils, creating a richer scent that typically lasts longer on the skin, while cologne is generally lighter in concentration and longevity.

How long does a custom fragrance last on your skin?
How long a fragrance lasts can vary based on its concentration, fragrance composition, your skin, and even your environment. Scent Your Body™ is designed to create a beautiful, wearable fragrance experience that evolves naturally throughout the day.

Can I bring back and reuse my Sea Love candle vessel?
Yes! We love giving your Sea Love candle vessel another life. Bring your clean, empty vessel back to a participating Sea Love location and receive $5 off your next candle experience when you reuse it.
Before returning your vessel, please clean it using one of these methods:
Freezer Method: Place the completely cooled candle vessel in the freezer for 30 minutes to 4 hours. Once the wax has hardened, gently loosen and remove it.
Melting Method: During the final burn, carefully pour the remaining melted wax onto a disposable, heat-safe surface and wipe the vessel clean while it is still warm.
Boiling Water Method: Carefully pour boiling water into the vessel and allow it to sit until the remaining wax rises to the surface and solidifies. Remove the wax once completely cooled.

How long will my soy candle burn?
Burn time varies depending on candle size, wick care, and burn conditions.
- Single Wick 12 oz: 40+ hours
- Double Wick 16 oz: 65+ hours
- Triple Wick: 90+ hours
For best results, trim your wick to approximately ¼ inch before each burn and do not burn your candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
What kind of wax does Sea Love use?
Sea Love uses 100% U.S.-grown soy wax, a renewable vegetable wax known for its beautiful fragrance performance and smooth, even burn.
What kind of fragrance oils does Sea Love use?
We use high-quality fragrance oils, many of which incorporate essential oils and naturally derived ingredients alongside carefully formulated aroma ingredients. Our fragrances are phthalate-free and selected to meet Sea Love's quality and performance standards for their intended use.
What is the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils?
Essential oils are extracted from botanical sources, while fragrance oils are carefully formulated blends that may contain naturally derived ingredients, essential oils, and synthetic aroma molecules.
While essential oils are natural, “natural” doesn't necessarily mean better or more appropriate for every fragrance application. Some essential oils can cause skin sensitivity, oxidize over time, or react to sunlight, and certain natural ingredients can require significant plant resources to produce.
Premium fragrance oils allow perfumers to create a much broader range of scents while providing greater consistency, stability, and fragrance performance.
Sea Love chooses high-quality, phthalate-free fragrance oils formulated for their intended applications and used in accordance with applicable IFRA guidelines.

How are Sea Love fragrances made to smell so realistic?

What is Sea Love's reed diffuser base made of?
Our reed diffuser base is a professionally formulated carrier designed to gently and effectively disperse fragrance into the air.
Our formula includes Augeo Clean Multi®, a plant-derived ingredient commonly used in premium home fragrance products, along with other ingredients selected to support consistent diffusion, evaporation, and fragrance performance.
Are Sea Love products safe for pets?
Because every animal is different, we don't make blanket safety claims about fragranced products and pets. When enjoying home fragrance, always use products as directed, provide appropriate ventilation, and keep candles, fragrance oils, and diffuser liquids out of reach of pets.
If your pet has known sensitivities or you have specific concerns about fragrance exposure, we recommend consulting your veterinarian.
Why does my soy candle have wet spots or frosting?
Wet spots and frosting are common characteristics of 100% soy wax and can occur naturally as the wax responds to changes in temperature during cooling, shipping, or storage.
These variations are primarily cosmetic and do not necessarily affect the candle's fragrance or burn performance. They're simply part of the natural character of soy wax.
Are Sea Love fragrances all natural?
Not exclusively. Our fragrances may include a combination of naturally derived ingredients, essential oils, and carefully formulated synthetic aroma molecules. This allows us to achieve greater fragrance variety, consistency, stability, and performance while selecting ingredients appropriate for each product's intended use.
